EnergyIntel 2025 Annual Review: A Transformative Year Leading Into Our 20th Anniversary

As EnergyIntel approaches its 20th anniversary in 2026, the year 2025 emerged as a pivotal turning point. Α year that did far more than add milestones to our history. Instead, it set the stage for a new era defined by technological strength, international recognition, and deeper societal contribution.

Rather than closing a chapter, 2025 opened the anniversary decade, laying the foundation for the strategic direction, ambitions, and elevated purpose that will shape the journey ahead.

In a rapidly evolving global energy market driven by climate commitments, rising electricity costs, electrification, and the urgent need for storage, 2025 demonstrated what a Cyprus-born innovator can achieve when vision, engineering, and leadership converge.

What follows is a comprehensive look into the year that advanced EnergyIntel’s mission, expanded its footprint, and positioned the company  and for a defining anniversary year in 2026.

1. Α Selection of Signature Projects: Engineering the Future of Clean Infrastructure

In 2025, EnergyIntel delivered some of the island’s most defining clean-energy projects, led by the flagship Ayia Napa Marina installation — a 745 kWp, two-phase system generating up to 400,000 kWh annually and now widely regarded as a benchmark for sustainable luxury infrastructure in the Eastern Mediterranean. Engineered with marine-grade components and high-efficiency technologies, the project demonstrated how world-class destinations can lead the energy transition without compromising architectural or operational excellence. This project showcased EnergyIntel’s ability to deliver complex, multi-site, high-performance renewable systems, setting new standards for technical mastery, operational precision, and ESG-driven value creation in Cyprus’ business sector.

2. A Major European Achievement: EnergyIntel Awarded the STEP Manufacturing Grant

In 2025, EnergyIntel also secured one of the most competitive and strategically significant European distinctions: the STEP Award (“Setting up facilities and production lines for manufacturing new innovative products/services”), under which our proposal “Setting up Production of Unparalleled Thermal Energy Storage Solution” was successfully funded. This €2M grant represents a landmark moment for both EnergyIntel and Cyprus, enabling the creation of a state-of-the-art manufacturing line capable of producing 1,000 E247-V1 thermal storage units annually. Beyond boosting production capacity, the STEP Award positions EnergyIntel at the heart of Europe’s clean-technology value chain, reinforcing EU goals to scale critical energy technologies, reduce strategic dependencies, create high-value green jobs, and accelerate the large-scale deployment of long-duration storage. With ten units already operating across four countries, this investment empowers EnergyIntel to transform proven innovation into industrial reality and to elevate Cyprus as a manufacturing and innovation hub for next-generation clean-energy systems.

3. E247-CHP: A National Breakthrough in Long-Duration Energy Storage

Supported by the CONCEPT ENERGY award, EnergyIntel deployed Cyprus’ first long-duration thermal energy storage system (TES) in collaboration with Elysée Irrigation Ltd — marking a pivotal advancement for the island’s industrial and energy landscape. For the first time, local industries can turn surplus photovoltaic generation into a reliable, low-cost source of heat and electricity, significantly reducing curtailment and shielding operations from volatile energy prices.

In a market where companies purchase electricity at €0.35/kWh but export excess energy at €0.11/kWh, the introduction of long-duration storage is not merely beneficial — it is transformative. By enabling industries to retain and utilize their own clean energy, the E247-CHP system strengthens competitiveness, enhances energy autonomy, and offers a viable pathway toward decarbonization.

The implications are clear: long-duration storage is no longer a future consideration; it is now a cornerstone of industrial resilience, cost stability, and meaningful renewable integration in Cyprus.
